Securing suitable financing is not merely about submitting documents; it requires deliberate preparation to ensure your financial data reflects creditworthiness and business health.

1. Verify Credit Bureau Reports

Check both commercial CIBIL/CRIF reports of the business entity and individual credit scores of promoters. Identify any legacy reporting discrepancies, settled accounts, or incorrect records and resolve them before submission.

2. Maintain Clean Banking Conduct

Banks evaluate 12 months of bank statements looking for healthy average balances, clear cheque returns/EMI bounces, and consistent sales credit flow aligned with declared GST figures.

3. Reconcile GST Returns with Bank Credits

A frequent reason for appraisal delays is variance between GSTR-3B turnover figures, audited balance sheet sales, and banking transaction credits. Ensure your accounting team resolves variances beforehand.

4. Define the Exact Funding Requirement

Be precise about how much capital is required, what specific assets it will fund, and how generated cash flows will service the debt. Unclear capital requests often lead to under-sanctioning or mismatch in loan structure.
