What Is the CGTMSE Scheme?
The Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) was established jointly by the Ministry of MSME and SIDBI to facilitate institutional credit flow to viable micro and small enterprises without the bottleneck of collateral security.
Under this mechanism, the trust provides credit guarantee coverage to participating banks and NBFCs, mitigating the lender's risk in extending term loans and working capital lines to emerging businesses.
Who Can Consider CGTMSE Financing?
- New and existing Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) with valid Udyam registration.
- Manufacturing enterprises setting up or expanding industrial machinery.
- Service sector enterprises requiring operational liquidity or technology upgrades.
- Businesses with sound operating cash flows but limited unencumbered real estate for collateral.
